Comments on the Exams, the Practice Tests, and HW
  1. I do not post HW solutions online after you turn them in because electronic copies of solutions would inevitably end up in the possession of future classes, degrading their value to those students. I do post HW and "extra" problem solutions on my door.
  2. All exam problems are similar to the easy-to middle-difficulty problems on HW and "extra" problems. You need not be concerned about the ones that are tricky or highly involved with non-statistics issues.
  3. The practice test cannot be completely similar to the exam you will receive because:
    a) it can cover only a fraction of the topics we do in class,
    b) I choose different combinations of topics to ask about each time so that students won't zero on in only those used in the previously used exam.

However, if you can sit down and work each problem on the practice exam the first time you see it, it is highly likely that you know all of the material very well. If you specifically study ONLY the material on the practice exam before taking it, it will be a poor predictor of how well you will do.
